Colours of My Sky

February 26th, 2009 by Sadye

The rainbow bows with colours smeared across the sky,

Reds smudged into the sun,

Oranges and yellows touch the tree tops,

The mountains are caked in greens,

Blue, of course, stretches its limbs in the water, in the sky,

Violet briefly grazes the ground, touches the grass, the dirt,

But only, when rainbows come out to play.

This is a great poem, Sadye! Very vivid images. And your verbs are really rich: “smeared,” “caked,” “stretches,” “grazes.” Well-done!
